Also, recommend me a different mobo and DDR3 RAM if it will make a big difference. I was originally planning a Phenom 2 940be, but newegg deactivated, and MicroCenter doesn't seem to carry them at the local store any more. I'd like to keep it within my current budget of around $1500-1600, as low as possible.

It currently sits @ $1423.71 and I'm not sure if my current keyboard is Vista compatible, so I want to leave a little for a keyboard if it's not...

I don't really plan to OC right away, eventually. I might up it to 3.4 ghz like the 965 for the heck of it.

I'm not set on getting that HDD either, it looked decent for the price, and I don't really need more than 300GB even, but extra space is better than no space, lol.

Maybe the Scythe Mugen 2?

Also, all USB keyboards are vista compatible, lol. If you have special software for certain parts of the keyboard (non-standard media keys or macro keys) its possible they wont work, but everything else will

So my cheap MS wireless keyboard from 3/4 years ago is compatible. cool, i can wait on getting a good keyboard for a little while then.

I've been trying to check how tall the mugen 2 is, not quite sure it will fit...

You do not want a Deathstar, go ofr Samsung F1 or Seagate or Western Digital for HD. I also doubt you need 8GB of ram and besides that ram is pretty expensive sort.

As for cooler, maybe Freezer Xtreme.

I don't like Scythe, so I'd still pick the Core Contact.

Mugen 2 looks good, but will it fit in the case???

Case is 8.3" wide

So I'm looking at the Samsung F1's, should I get a terrabyte for the hell of it?

I doubt I'll ever need that much space, but you never know, lol...

Also:
Should I get this RAM instead of the PNY RAM? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a … 6820227362
It's $6 cheaper for each set of 2 sticks.

I want to get 8GB all at once, because I don't really want to have to add more later...

Mugen 2 fits without the sidepanel fan (which is pretty useless anyway).

1TB HDDs are nice, got 2 of those F1 1TBs myself and they are pretty quiet and good.

Yes, definately that OCZ ram. Do you REALLY need 8GB ram tho?

I probably don't need it, but I won't be able to upgrade for several years other than GFX maybe, that's just how it goes with my family...

And AM3 only mobos are somewhat expensive, and newegg only has 3 models, plus DDR3 RAM is rather pricey...
