That's a bit off. Speaker can handle more than RMS, its called peak power but only lasts for around 30 min to an hour, depends on the speaker.Morpheus wrote:
Ok, well first off, don't be a douche that automatically think louder=better. It doesn't.
Now, to answer some questions:
The RMS value (Root Mean Square) is the wattage the speaker can handle... so a speaker with a RMS of 300 watts needs a 300 watt amp.
... I was trying to be basic, yet having enough technical data to support me. Yes, I've used 400w speakers with a peak of 1600w... But as a general rule, you do want to match speakers with the amp, if you want them to last, anyway.Sup wrote:

Personally I'd go with JVC speakers- I have them. Very good quality/money balance. Now size and type of a spekers depend where you want to place them. An option is: 2 tweeters at the bottom of the wind shield, 2 all-in-one level speakers at sides (in front doors) and two bass only speakers at the rear wind shield and another sub if you like lots of bass. Also an amp, something like this MRA-F350
Hehe I wanted to be basic too. But I totally agree an amp is essential, its not just about the power but a good amp will provide a better sound than any radio integrated amp would.Morpheus wrote:

You must admit, driving around with your teeth chattering not because of sheer horsepower, but of your annoying hip hop is rather lame.Mitch wrote:
