Also, it did drag on for a bit at some stages but most of the time it worked for me, such as the bar scene: It really helps you capture the slow building of tension. And as for character development, the German soldier who is celebrating the birth of his child at the bar really made me hate the Basterds and the film star once they killed him. Good how they show some of the Germans as humans, but it makes you turn against the Allies for being os inhumane.

Overall, worth the money but its not another Pulp Fiction or Reservoir Dogs at all.

If you don't like gore you should check out kill bill.

Get a good seat. Fucking sucks when you go into a packed theater and you end up having to sit behind some tall fucker who isn't nice. There are LOTS of subtitles, so make sure you can see the screen good.

So dont read this if you havnt watched it.

I recon the bat was by far the worst, every one thought the scalping was bad but for some reason it didnt effect me at all, nor did the branding scene. Maybe because the bat scene was so ruthless and graphic, not to mention realistic.

So I went to see it Saturday night.

I must admit it was sometimes very boring, I wished there was more scenes with the Bastards ambushing Nazis. Infact, there is not one scene of them ambushing, just them "Cleaning up" afterward with the baseball bat clubbing and the scalping. The only time there's a shooting with them is in the stupid bar (which was hilarious "say goodbye to your balls nazi boy") and the last scene.

After Kill Bill I want more martial arts and swords fights in a QT film rather than using firearms. Kill Bill was paying homage to 1960/1970 martial arts films. If you are not aware none of those martial arts movies did not have much of a plot and they all bordered on the same plot...revenge.

I am on the fence with Inglorious Basterds. Probably will wait for it to be on cable. From what I see on the trailer(s) it is not enough...Nein, nein, nein (reminds me of the youtube furer cancelled live account)

From the ms paint subtitles and captions, to the mis-matched sound track, to the alternate reality finish. It was about 45 minutes too long, the interesting plot line involving the girl was undeveloped.

I wish we had picked District 9.

In short, a big steamy pile of juvenile horse dung.

I say save your money until it comes out on dvd, but you can buy cheaper coasters at walmart.

District 9 had quite a few subs too.

The problem with Basterds' subs was they were blurry and hideous. I like my subtitles high res, with borders and a subtle shadow.

Though I've never really liked holocaust movies. The only bits of Schindler's List I enjoyed were when the Nazi was sniping jews from his balcony.
