Where the Wild Things Are - 9/10

Wonderfully subtle film, beautifully shot with amazing acting.  The identities of each of the monsters are realized extremely well, and the whole movie depicts a tad bit bleak but realistic view of all the aspects of childhood for Max, the main character.

It's really that good? I read about it back when Jonze had it in production and i was feeling excited about it then. Very much looking forward to seeing it.

I'm scared about watching this because I loved the book. I almost always end up pissed off with films of books I like.

This is a great example of one of those films - another is Fantastic Mr Fox which will be out soon (and which some of my friends did the puppets for) but I am worried that it looks too clean and doesn't have enough of a Quentin Blake feel to it.

Despite being slated by some mates I watched it anyway. I thought it was really good (pig cannon FTW).

The alternate ending is Spoiler (highlight to read):
more of a happy "everybody lives" scenario, but well worth watching cause there's a few extra scenes with it that make sense.

It's still an absolute shit movie. Only held together by Will Smiths performance.

Late last Saturday on TV, 007 - For Your Eyes Only: 5.5/10

One of the worse 007 movies, with the only good part being the intro (Blofelds death by helicopter/wheelchair/chimney-combo). The movie should be regarded as filler material between good James Bond Movies (Moonraker and Octopussy), just as E.g. On Her Majesty's Secret Service (Between You Only Live Twice and Diamonds Are Forever) and Thunderball (After Goldfinger, before the aforementioned YOLT).

Roger Moore is generally an OK James Bond, he's got nothing on Sean Connery, but he beats Timothy Dalton and Pierce Brosnan 6-0. In this movie however, his acting efforts were below par. Perhaps he needs a good adversary to be a good Bond (Christopher Walken, Christopher Lee) or a hot and unforgettable Bond-chick (E.g. Solitaire (Jane Seymour).

Lacking in a charismatic Bond, a good Bond-chick, the bad-guy archetype, a decent soundtrack, good punchlines and Q:s gadgets, it's just filler.

I wat'd

Pierce iz da man. Sean is the JB. Who is Dalton. Moore is okay, Id rate the actors as Sean>Pierce>Roger>Timmy.

Although Moore does have that classyness about him that Pierce doesnt, but Pierce just has that awesomeness about him.

Pierce is too syrupy imo.

I guess my rating would be: Sean->Daniel->Roger->Timmy->Pierce->George.

You'd out Daniel Craig above Pierce?

Tbh, although Quantum of Solace was good, it wasn't because of Daniel. Yeah, he's a good actor, but he isn't that good as a Bond.

Sean is the classic, everybody knows that, but of the modern bonds, Pierce wins hands down. Granted, he's a bit syrupy and stuff, but he somewhow manages to charm the audience whilst still kicking ass.

Roger Moore is great.... at times. He had his Bond moments and others were pretty fail. If you ask me, Pierce was pretty consistent.

I think it goes like this:

Sean > Pierce = Roger > Daniel > Timmy > George

Your arguments make sense. But I still wouldn't put Pierce that high up, he'd still be after Timmy and Daniel.

I thought Quantum of Solace was downright terrible . Biggest letdown in years.

Also I like Pierce and Daniel.

Oh, sorry, I meant Casino Royale. Got them both mixed up. Yeah, QoS was utter shit.
