In all honesty, don't worry about compatibility.
32 bit programs can run in 64 bit, you just can't run 16 bit programs... but those are like ones designed for windows 3.1. If you are not running software designed for win 3.1 you will be fine. I think windows 7 is seeing a big rise in people using 64 bit... You shouldn't have any trouble with finding 64 bit drivers.
