It's a technical university. Cheaper than Windows, I suppose. The problem is that all of the computers outside of the IT lab all run KDE (some Fedora variation, it looks like) and it all runs off a central server. Then you add an old as balls P4 to the mix and you have a very slow computer. There are a few C2Ds in one of the other buildings and they're fine, but the P4s ... I hate them. The IT lab has a different Fedora distro (looks very much like Ubuntu, whereas the KDE is like Windows) and those all run just fine.
Shortly after making that last post, though, I saw that Opera is on them, too. Maybe I'll try that next time I'm at uni.
