KDE has nothing to do with an operating system. KDE is the graphical area of Unix systems. It's a desktop environment. Not an operating system. Just like GNOME.

Most linux systems can run on either graphical interfaces - Ubuntu runs on GNOME.

Fedora also runs on GNOME but has KDE as well. Kubuntu, Mandrive and Gentoo also have KDE.

OK, I didn't know that. It's got KDE plastered all over that Fedora distro and has the window bar at the bottom like in Windows, whereas the Fedora distro in our lab looks like Ubuntu. I'm not a Linux guy. I haven't a bloody clue. I just use the damn things to do a bit of surfing and Java programming.

Consistency might be a better word I suppose. However, Google even acknowledges Chromes stability issues and promises to address them in 4.0 (which I fully intend on trying).
