( you can be unlucky though
). Upgrade advice is that any new card be 3-5 lines above the one you have to make it worthwhile and also watch you keep the same level within a generation. for example trading your 8500gt for a 220. it is an improvement but a lower end card than then the 260. i hope i explained that ok
I don’t recommend upgrading your graphics card unless the replacement card is at least three tiers higher. Otherwise, the upgrade is somewhat parallel and you may not notice a worthwhile difference in performance
