Ever dragged a fragile gaming PC and monitor in a suitcase to another country and watched it get smashed onto coaches and buses? I have.Stubbee wrote:

He has an amazing desktop, i7, 6gb ram, 9800gt etc, but for reasons I can't remember he can't really use it much.SonderKommando wrote:
I agree, gaming laptops are kinda fail... but Dell XPS/Alienware are good bets. I would only recommend it if you travel, but you say plugged in 24/7 so im assuming this will be home use? Why not get a desktop? you will get an amazing desktop for the price of your average gaming lappy.

Gaming puts a lot of stress on your mouse and keyboard. Laptops can't handle, for long, that kind of usage.
The video performance is almost always sub-par.
Gaming on a laptop = frustration.
sorry about your health my man. I thought maingear made lappies but I guess not after checking their site. Alienware mate, at least you'll get decent support from a reputable mainstream organization when it overheats and has a semi-nuclear meltdown..jay_courage wrote:

thanks dude, I'm looking into them quite intenselySonderKommando wrote:

THE

OUT.
No where does it say in the OP about ill heatlh and I don't keep track of everyone's else status on this site.
Jay: i am also so about your health.
I can understand the desire for gaming whilst in the hospital having spent enough time in them myself.
Regardless of his health a gaming laptop STILL SUCKS. The only mobile card comparable to his desktop is the 280M. Such a laptop will be very expensive. If price is not an issue then a good 280M system from a reputable manufacturer is the only way to go. Hopefully you won't have issues with it.

Go for Rock. Poschy has already said XPS are shit. And you never liked Alienware.jay_courage wrote:
wow, everyone chill, no need for hard feelings guys, I know you all have my best intrests at heart. Quite frankly I'd rather eat my own head than get a laptop but my desire to game is greater than my desire to look at the paint on a hospital room. Budget is upto £2k
