Check the volumes within VMware to ensure that it is formatted correctly.

Post pics of your network prefs pane in system prefs and details of how you connect and I'll tell you how to do it.

Looks like you're using dial up connections.

Add an ethernet interface. (in the top screen shot you posted click + to add a new connection and make sure you choose ethernet)

If you can't add ethernet then it's the VMware settings. Screenshots would be helpful.

Try using a bridged connection not a NAT one.

Have you tried using untitled bond as an interface in network prefs?

Why do you have the IP configured manually?

Set network to bridged in VMware. Set interface to untitled bond (or ethernet0 - which it might change to) in network prefs in OSX - configure IPv4 using DHCP.

Also - add this line to your vmx file: ethernet0.virtualDev="e1000"

Then perhaps run ifconfig on OSX to have a look. It's been a while since I used VMware this way round...

He shouldn't need drivers.

tbh the best way of doing it is just through editing the vmx file and then changing all the settings using ifconfig.

if this is anything like linux bring up a terminal and type

change to the correct directory

Code:

cd /path/to/directory
make sure that the correct files are there. It should output install.sh, load.sh, etc ...

Code:

ls
execute the shell script with root rights

Code:

sudo ./install.sh
