I'm ready to throw my camera out the window... it takes it between 5-10 seconds to snap a picture AFTER the green "ready box" appears. It wasn't that bad when I got it so maybe the battery is dying, I dunno. Regardless, I'd like to buy a new camera. Something in the $200-$300 range preferably.
I used to have a little camera that would snap the picture the instant I pressed the button. I miss that a lot. Quality was shit though.
I know they need a moment to focus, but once I see that green box, I want to the fucker to snap the picture. Not sure why this is so hard for cameras to do.
So does anyone know of a quality camera (anything over 7M pixels) that snaps the picture instantly? Or am I just dreaming?
I won't go above $400. And even that is pushing it.
Also, video output format: anything other than quicktime, preferably AVI or something that I won't need one-off codecs to work with.

Sober enough to know what I'm doing, drunk enough to really enjoy doing it
