Oh sweet god we've got another Nyte on our hands.
Flaming_Maniac: You are not the shit. 47 kills on karkand as sniper isn't anything to be proud of. It's better then average, but unless you can do it all the time, shush.
And if you can't tell the difference in accuracy with the SVD, you're a retard. If you can, here's a fucking medal.
I go for M95. It's got a much steeper learning curve, but if you manage to actually learn (you need more then practice) how to use it, it's as good as anything else.
If you hit someone to a third health, you hit the arm/leg.
First of all, no I am not "the shit", but we'll get back to that later.
Now, as far as the accuracy of the SVD. Actually, it is pretty darn accurate. If you can aim and shoot properly nad not sparay five shots in two seconds, it's pretty darn accurate. I'm not saying it's hard to tell the difference, my point is that the SVD cannot even prove to be accurate to the distance of it's scope. I wasn't saying how "1337" I was that I could tell the difference, but was more referring to an above poster that said "Just think of it like ten shots without reloading," and showing that even with skill, you can't gauruntee ten headshots at any distance, as I thought that could be fairly misleading. By the way thanks for the medal.
As far the m95 goes, it's a fine gun, but even if you "know how to use it", which I highly disagree that it has any more learning curve than the others, you just have to know how to hold your shot for a second beofre you fire to let your sights settle, it takes longer to line up a shot with the m95 than with the L96 or the m24. That's all there is to it. It does have slightly less than laser like accuracy, and it has slightly thicker than razor-thin crosshairs, but it takes a fraction of a second longer to line up a shot with the m95 than the others. I don't think it makes a big deal with an overall k/d in a round, but I think it makes a difference in sniper duels. It is great for harassing enemy jets/choppers on their pad, but on karkand, the extra damage against targets with body armor is not a big plus in my opinion. And if it does have such a good learning curve, what's the point if as you say it will only be as good as everything else.
Wow. I don't know how many times this has been said. Do you know about body armor? If your target has body armor on, then the L96 and m24 will always bring you down to a third health when shot anywhere except the head, which is of course always a kill. It's really not a had concept, and you can try it yourself. Just get on an empty server with one of your friends, get an L96, tell him to be AT, then shoot him in the chest. Ask him how much damage he takes. Even if you don't have any friends, I'll get on with you and test it out. So no more excuses for ignorance ok?
Ok, now about me being "the shit". First of all, let's just get straight that my original comment was meant to show that I have some experience in the area and am not some nutjob quoting what he saw at another site. Now, about 47 kills in a round. First of all, have you ever done this? To clarify, that's 47 kills sniper only, no vehicles, about 2 claymore kills and 5 pistol kills, and the rest were rifle kills. Again, no tanks, no cars, no arty whatever. Throw in 2 flag caps, straight caps and not assists, break a hundred and get gold on a 64 player map with 40-50 players that night. Have fun. And I've broken 40 sniper only kills on servers like that at least 5 times sniper only, but you see, sniper isn't the only thing i play, in fact my favorite class is actually medic. By the way, what do you do as a sniper? 65 hours as a sniper, but only 45 with the sniper rifle? Along with only 8 hours with a pistol? 12 hours in armor as a sniper? Almost 20% of your time? I have about 4 more hours as you with a sniper rifle but about 1,400 more kills. I must've been pretty busy those last four hours. Honestly, I think that anything over 40 kills as a sniper IAR is pretty good, and I would like you to enlighten me as to what you consdier a good sniper round to be?
