Don't think so, but could be. I have to go to the police station to get it and I have to have a 100% clean record.west-phoenix-az wrote:

I'm always curious how other places do it. We have it so good here in Arizona. We don't have to have a permit to buy, own or carry loaded (open or concealed). Concealed carry without a permit starts on July 29, 2010. No owner or firearm registration. No limit on how many firearms or how much ammunition we can have. No magazine capacity limits. Lockers or safes are not required, but its a good idea to have one anyway. Can buy, sell and trade with other citizens without completing government paperwork or paying fees (a.k.a. the gun show loophole ). The Governor is prohibited from confiscating lawfully held firearms and ammunition during a state of emergency. If we could just get around the tax and registration for full autos, short barrels and suppressors we'd have it about as good as it gets.
no and yes, while it is possible to shoot normal pistols like a Sig Sauer over here, it costs a helluva lot of money and I believe you have to keep the gun locked in the gun club and have a very special permit. The normal "range pistol" over here is .22 competition pistols.
no, I believe you may only transport your rifle from home to hunt/range and to use a firearm for self-defence is not even something anyone considers here.
If you were to carry your gun in public without a gun-case, be that for transport purposes or whatever, I think you'd be reported and told off by the police pretty quick, people don't take kindly to firearms over here unless they are used as "tools"
