The new drivers that came out a couple of days ago for the X-Fi Titanium tried to update or reinstall it but there's a certain file that was missing so it was entirely uninstalled.  I tried downloading the console installed by itself from Creative and that had the same problem.

It wants me to "Insert disc one" to find layout.bin and starts with this location by default:

C:\Windows\temp\CRF000\CSLaunch

And it can't find it there, which is where I'm assuming it's supposed to be, like the file wasn't fully extracting it or something.  I checked that particular folder after canceling the installation and it isn't in there at all.

I tried to reinstall the older drivers, but got the same problem, what the fuck do I have to do?

I use headphones and it's currently set to 2 speakers, I can tell by the way it sounds.  And I have no idea how to change that from the Windows settings in 7, I already looked through all the audio hardware related shit and couldn't find anything to do that.

Did you try using DriverSweeper to remove the previous install files? Make sure to run it in Safe Mode.

Didn't work, plus the console installer doesn't seem to be in there with the new drivers at all, but I went ahead and installed the new driver anyway and then I came across this:

http://www.overclock.net/other-software … stall.html

Apparently at some point during the installation it deletes almost all of the key files from the folder it installs from in the temp.  So what I did is start the installation and watch it extract, then I went to that folder that it keeps it in(C:\Windows\temp\CRF000\CSLaunch) and copied everything to a separate folder in the temp files and then when it asked me for the files that it deleted in the installation, I just copied and pasted back everything from the other folder and that worked perfectly.

This is a different console launcher layout than I'm used to but it has all the same stuff, just slightly hidden, but I can work with it.

You could try using the "Support Pack" that daniel_k has created; you can find the files on the Creative forums in the Sound Blaster section.

What is it exactly?  I've heard about his custom drivers, is that the same thing?

And what do his drivers do differently that everybody loves about them?

His drivers fix a few of the common issues, and he has repackaged all the software that Creative didn't bother to package into their installers; it also contains newer and updated software.
