I've been out of the loop for all this tech shit for some time now, so I don't really know what's what these days.
I'm looking to spend around 400 on a new PC, I don't mind having to build it myself and I don't need a monitor. I guess a website like ocuk is the one to use.

It comes up to 399.64 when you include VAT + shipping. Which is pretty accurate, except it doesn't have a case, or an OS. I have a case already, it's pretty old and crappy but it should be able to be gutted and replaced with shiny new parts.
I could stretch another 50 for some cheap case or a bit of extra room for other components. The main thing I'm confused about is the whole Intel/AMD/Nvidia thing and which ones are the best value for money at the moment. It seems like AMD all-round are the cheaper option.
