I FINALLY got this badge! Wouldn't you guys agree that this is one of the most tedious badges to get? 30 hours in AA is a lot. I did notice one thing regarding the 12 kills IAR you need to get while in AA in order to get the badge. Arty kills while commander count towards the 12 kills. Here's my personal 3 golden rules of getting the AA vet badge.
1) Play as Commander while you sit in the AA
You need to do this otherwise your SPM will go to shit. You'll earn points by being commander plus you'll be gaining time towards this badge. In addtion, you're really helping your team by keeping the skies as friendly as possible.
2) Use the kit you hate playing the most while you're in the AA
Personally, I'm not a big fan of playing as a Sniper. I'll pick the sniper kit when I man the AA so it counts as time towards both AA and snipers
3) Beer
Sometimes the game can get a bit dull while you're just sitting in an AA all round while your teammates are in the thick of the action. I find downing a few pints of your favourite brew helps to keep things interesting.
Cheers boys. And goodluck to everyone else in getting this tedious badge.
