What kills me too is that you're kinda screwed out of a bullet. When you eject a magazine mid way through it, you still have a bullet in the chamber, when you reload the AK-101 for example mid-mag, you should still have one round left, leaving you 31 rounds. Also another thing thats funny about the M-16 is the fact when the magazine runs out (M4 and M16 alike) the charging handle sticks to the rear, and all you have to do is insert a magazine, and hit a button on the side and it slides the hammer forward, unlike the animation that shows him pulling the charging handle back every time. Also at the end of the M4/M16 animations the Marine hits whats called a "forward assist", anyone who is military or prior military would notice that, the forward assist is for jams in the weapon, if a round gets snagged in the chamber, you can slap the holy hell out of the forward assist and it sometimes knocks the round in the chamber, as for the AK-101/47/74U, I couldnt tell you because I have only fired them once, I am not sure if they have the same action or not. Just a little ramble information thought some of you may find an interesting read. Thanks!
P.S. On the EA website that talks about the bullet the M-16 uses, it says it uses a .223 round, this is untrue, even on this site its correct. It fires a 5.56 bullet, which in game i still believe its terribly underpowered. The .223 round is only used for training purposes.
I've noticed that and it bugs me too. Because if you reload without having run out of bullets, all you have to do is pull the mag out, put the new mag in - DONE.
As for the .223, it must be civilian mistake (which I just made). I thought .223" was the english equivalent to 5.56 mm and that the only difference between the commercially available .223" and the 5.56 x XX mm was the length of the bullet and/or powder charge.
I also agree that the M16 (and the M4, which should theoretically have basically the same power as the M16 considering it fires the same bullet out of a shorter barrel) is under powered. For me they can leave it as it is, as long as they added some sort of impact effect so the person you're shooting at would lose their aim. It's so incredibly annoying to hit someone with a 3 round burst only to have them instantly open fire and kill you.
