The only type of woman that I don't respect are the types that throw themselves at wealthy men. My wife grew up at a country club and the mothers always used to tell their daughters to marry rich so that they themselves could have the cushy work-free life that they had. She married me instead, and we're happy. I don't respect the idle rich who have inherited, and I don't respect the type of person that seeks the lifestyle without working for it. The get-rich-quick types in our society are a burden, and we're rife with them.

I mean nevermind the rampant alcoholism, the infidelity, the emotional insecurity, and the fact that their husbands put zero effort into their children, it's a great life shopping, getting your nails done and gossiping all day. And one day, when your husband inevitably trades you in for a newer model, you get half of his cash, and a lonely second half of your life.

He was saying that because he's a celebrity he can do whatever he wants with women. Why would he say something like that? Does rape culture really apply in this situation? I don't think so. The mans entire adult life he's had women throwing themselves at him because they want a piece of his bank account. Can you really blame him for becoming an entitled asshole? Bloomberg made similar remarks about a decade ago, about how great it is to be a single, straight male billionaire in New York and how much ass he pulls in. The women aren't the victims in this situation, there really aren't any victims. Both sides are predatory.

He bragged about sexual assault. It's pretty cut and dried. If you don't think so, just look at all the Republicans publicly disendorsing him.

I think Jay is assuming that Trump was talking about groupies. He's not. Certainly not in this case given he was taking about a married woman who clearly wasn't interested in him. I assure you, women by and large wouldn't throw themselves at Trump. There's the odd Malania or cheap skank that may want to see what they want to get out of him but these would be in the minority. The thing is that he has a status where any woman - or any subordinate - is going to want to be polite, to appease him. That doesn't mean they desire him any more than the cashier who smiled at me today was mentally undressing me.

To Trump every attractive woman he sees is a groupie there for him to fondle. Every polite gesture or signal that could be interpreted as flirtatious is enough to give him licence to have his way. They don't object because that's the culture we have; rich and famous men can do what they want, women subjected to their behaviour either find it too awkward or too dangerous to object. And with good reason. It can ruin careers, ruin lives and sadly there is a culture that is more likely to express disbelief than condemnation. How many women had to come forward before everyone worked out that maybe Bill Cosby wasn't exactly lovable old Dr. Huxtable?

This situation only makes someone like Trump think he can continue doing what he wants. And Trump, as unhinged as he is, thinks he's desirable to women rather than repulsive because women don't object.

Trump is the personification of this ugliness in society that we all know is there but seem too ashamed to admit to. That's perhaps why there are so many confused individuals trying to suggest what Trump expressed was normal. And while there is a certain degree of normalcy that rich white men can essentially treat women like pieces of meat that does not mean it is normal behaviour and it certainly doesn't mean it's acceptable. Men can be crass, they can objectify women, tell lewd stories and jokes - sure. But being so blase about committing sexual assault? Even the bro-est dudebros I know wouldn't go that far. And even if they did, they aren't running for President of the US.

Trump is toast. Orange toast. His army of Trumpettes may try to excuse or justify him or insist that Hillary-through-Bill is worse or even claim it's all just a big establishment plot to get rid of a candidate they don't like. Trump will get their votes and he'll get the votes of people who'll vote for whoever the Republicans cough up but ultimately I have enough respect for Americans that they know the difference between a far-from-ideal candidate and an absolute dumpster fire.

I wasn't defending him, nor would I ever behave like him, all I was saying is that I kind of understand how one can become such an entitled asshole when the pickings are generally easy. I hope the Republicans remove him from the candidacy. Literally any Republican could've beat Hillary, except one with even more skeletons than her.
