When there are some foot soldiers approaching an enemy CP and they have a tank with them, how should the tank move in relation to the soldiers on foot? Imagine Wake with 64 players, attacking the airfield.
I did this yesterday with fewer players and tried not to get to far ahead of the teammates on foot because I felt the tank would be of no use to them (suppressing the other soldiers). Unfortunately the attack failed and someone said that it's suicide to move so slowly with the tank. He's got a point but it's also frustrating when the tank drives ahead and are destroyed before the teammates get there. It's never good to attack "dripwise" one at the time, allowing the enemy to concentrate their fire on one target at the time. Furthermore the tank is important equipment if an enemy tank shows up. You could actually argue that the infantry should go ahead and that they are somewhat responsible to protect the tank, by clearing out enemy ATs before they get any clear shots. Then if (or rather when) the enemy tank shows up they can hold back a little and let their tank take care of it. What do you think?
