I would like to see Battlefield 3 take place on U.S. soil. Like Armored Fury. Battlefield 3 could be like a story line that begun with the first small scale invasion of U.S. soil in Armored Fury, and the full scale invasion of the U.S. in Battlefield 3

How about adding some bots? And some civilians? Or some freaking different gametypes? Or make scores carry over from map to map (an acutal story line!) ...

Greater immersion, complexity, believability -- your tank shouldn't be impeded on the minor hinge of a corner, you should be able to dig trenches for cover, all buildings should be enterable, all buildings should be completely destructable, more utility for unfavored classes, integrated, dynamic melee combat system, greater vehicle selection, larger number of combatants in an embattled environment, ability to cook grenades, minimum arming distance for rifle nades, + mores.

2142 is meant to be more like Battlefield 2 on the xbox 360, with the classes more combined
i.e. anti-tank and mechanic are same class

to add to what people want.  i would say the ability to through a gernade back at people, how many times have you had to run away from a gernade only for it to go off and kill you.\

also, if i want greater bullet detection, so if you get shot, your accuracy goes down.

also, the adrenaline running.  if there is a tank and you NEED to run away but you just ran out of energy, in real life you are not going to stop and rest.  they could have it where after you use it, it takes you a longer to recharge completly

How about BF3....Inner cities.  The first map can be my high school.  Its practically a war ground already.  Instead of Nations we would have Gangs.  It would be like GTA except that it’s multiplayer.  LOL.

Destructable terrain/buildings/walls?????.....could u imagine after 20 arty strikes,50 c4 explosions,200 greandes etc etc .....what the map would look like..hmmm...lol.
While the idea is great and i personally would love it,i just dont think it would work unless they had some kind of DESTRUCTION LIMITATIONS.
I mean the Hotel in Karkand would just be a big hole in the ground..lol

BF3 should include:

- Fully destructible environments
- be able to go ANYWHERE in a map, like being able to go into any building, or jump out any window, or shoot out any window for that matter.
- lots of total factions, and more than 2 per map
- more than ground and air combat, i.e. add subs, destroyers and stuff for naval combat
- have both Day and Night maps, like in SF, or they could have a sort of timer in the round, i.e. the longer the round goes, the later in the day it gets.  Each map could have a start time or something to change when it goes dark or light
- Weather effects, like lightning and rain, perhaps they could go REALLY far and make it so when it rains, you get mud slicks that make it hard to run in, or you have to walk.. maybe even a chance that you get stuck and have to do something to get out, or die.  Perhaps even have lighting be able to hit people/vehicles to kill or disable them
- More environmental obstacles, like trees and stuff, so it's more covert and not so much "i see you, you die now!" kind of stuff.  Would make the game more intense
- bigger maps with more people, i remember someone said a long while ago that they were making a 256 player Karkand map... dont know how that went, but it would be awesome to have 256 players on a map don't you think?
- a better melee combat system, like gun whacking or fist fights.  Maybe even have grapples and wrestle around or something until you get a knife in their neck
- be able to pick up grenades that have been thrown
- add an adrenaline factor into the game, i.e. if you run into a tank after running out of sprint, being able to sprint until safe... or until you die, lol


i basically went through the thread and picked bits of peoples ideas that i liked, and added some of my own stuff.  Props to those who thought of them first

Precisely his point... In WW2 the more the Germans blew the crap out of the Soviet cities, the harder it was for them to shift the Soviet troops because they were just giving them new/different holes to hide in...

I would really love to see Kark with destroyable environs...... Would add a whole new spin to it... So many more options for flanking, AND the C4 would have yet another use....

To elaborate on the longer maps - make it the longer a map goes, the longer it takes for vehicles to reinforce. They already have a similar system with infantry, when you have 'limited tickets' so why not introduce a similar 'behind the scenes' system for tanks, apcs etc.

Would also be nice to be able to choose your uniform. I doubt battle-hardened troops would always have their sleeves down whilst in the middle of an intense desert combat. (Karkand for example).

The ability to customise your weapon to a degree. For example, assault can choose between a GL or an aimpoint. (The red dot you see with some AR currently when aiming them). If you had a GL, you wont be able to run as much, as it adds weight to the weapon plus the additional ammo.

Lack of map borders would be nice. Better ability to flank your opponent and develop some better, more intense combat.
