I also like many others started in BF1942. However i never played online and stopped playing 1942 as quickly as i started and went on to OFP and then CS. I skipped Vietnam entirely and came back then ended up here with BF2.
1942, but just the Single Player. I didn't have internet in my room then. Still, SP was fun enough, though I didn't really know what I was missing out of on Multiplayer
1942. I loved it... then dc came out and I loved it more. Then galactic conquest... I loved it even more!!!
That was and still is one of the best games ever.
I'd still play it once and a while but I only have a 40gb hard drive and I need the room.
As for the present... BF2 rocks.

[Ontopic]
I got 1942 in a package with the two boosters while vietnam was going do the dogs at pizza hut,
I loved SP, I played multiplayer for a while, but I was a noob back then, Hadnt heard of DC that time either
I feel ripped off now compaired to 1942, I mean, when that was out, you got multiplayer AND bots that were not the spawn of their sister, A campagine, and a more maps!!
All of this for $100 [Aus]
Now battlefield on the otherhand
A few annoying bugs [Never, ever had problems with 1942]
7 or 6 maps that only supported 16 player bots [No option to change ammount until 1.3]
Bots sucked donkey dick bigtime
SF is alright, nightmaps need some better coding, price is overrated for most [This game is rated M, so most kids wont have enough money to buy it]
Boosters have a total lack of content
[Cant comment on patches as I never patched 1942, mainly because I loved it and I felt it didnt need a patch, and mainly because I was the equivilent of nubsauce]
No Campaign!!
The game didnt have an original idea [DC]
They fucked up bigtime when they used higher-end coding, pushing most mid/low end users away [GeForce 4 users ect]
All of this for the same price as 1942 when it came out
You decide
Vietnam!
Same as both of you.Fuzzball_the_Shooter wrote:

My spoon is too big
1942 ftw. Gotta love Berlin, Omaha, Stalingrad, and of course........CORAL SEA!
BF1942 Multiplayer demo at a LAN a few days after it came out. I was VERY impressed
Incidently, I heard after the full game came out that someone had worked out a way to get Tobruk (from the singleplayer demo) working in the MP demo.
