Grenades and strafing

It seems to me that when I chuck a nade while strafing left or right that it effects the trajectory of the grenade somewhat. Either that or its just a false perspective you get while moving away from the line of travel.

Anyone have any opinion on this? I could swear that the movement creates a sort of "curveball" effect though I can not verify this. In your opinion, does sideways movement have any effect on the trajectory of a nade?

The same thing happens with the noob tube. Strafing throws the trajectory completely off.

Guess i'm gonna have to launch a private server and compare where a nade thrown while standing still lands, compared with where one thrown immediately after strafing left and right lands. If there is indeed a variation in trajectory, it would also be interesting to note whether adding sprint to the strafe would add even more curve to the path.

It changes the trajectory very drametically. The grenade doesnt curve, it just releases at an angle. Chopper pilots should be very used to it. The same thing happens whilst strafing in a chopper and firing rockets. Its very satisfying when you get them on target. But generally, its best not to strafe when throwing 'nades

It does really curve, I think they did the to end the mindless nade spamming, by making some skill involved to throwing and straffing at the same time.

Tanks, APCs, almost everything has a movement based on your own movement.. I think this "feature" is why BF2's netcode is so quirky... A lot more information is being passed to a lot of computers than most other online games...

I just really wish one shot from an M4 wouldn't kill me right after shoot four DAO - 12 rounds into that person's chest.

actually you can all you have to do is hold down right click sprint jump or just jump and relase the right mouse button as you jump and you through it while ur in the air
