If the whole idea of BF2 is supposed to be Rock<Paper<Scissors...Aircraft<Armor<Infantry...

And

We all know how borked the heatseeking missles are...

And

If you have played the "gunner" position and realized how infrequently you "miss" a lock if the pilot lines you up...

Make the AA missles fire more like the Air-to-ground missles.  Once you lock, there is a good chance your going to hit and not miss and hit a friendly.

Im just tired of 2 pilots owning the sky and nothing you can really do about it except to get in line for another jet...which 1/2 the time a "smart" pilot will keep people from even getting off the ground.

Note:  Speaking with another co-worker, we were wondering if speed is a factor in how the missles track.  Ie  AA has to track a much faster moving target and misses a lot more vs air-to-ground which the target is essentially "not moving or moving very slowly" compared to your relative speed.

i grow weary of people complaining about the stinger sites. stinger = not that great. its a shoulder launched SAM, what are you really expecting. admitted, the accidental TK is suck (i think that stingers shouldnt even lock onto friendlies, for the purposes of gameplay, not realism).

now the bradley/tusky/china whatever the hell...that could use some improvements (id rather see an avenger instead of a linebacker) but in those cases, its all about the gun. lob your missles, sure, but only on a front or rear aspect aircraft, never on a side aspect, theyll never hit. other than that, USE YOUR GUNS.

The point being:

If I know that I am being locked on by a hostile, the first thing I look for is another enemy aircraft.  Specifically, if I can follow another hostile jet when someone launches a heatseeker at me, it is more likely to hit thier own friendly that it is to hit me.

Use of the laser guided missle from the gunner position, it is a no brainer.  If the target is in front of you and you get a lock, vary rarely will you miss.  If you do, its usually because there wasnt enough distance between you and the target.

Sitting in a stinger site, vary rarely will you get a hit let alone a kill (they usually have to already be damaged or a beginner pilot).  You pretty much have to target them after they pass you AND they dont launch flares or take evasive manuvers.

Going back to the original topic of my statement on trying to IMPROVE whats wrong.
