As an avid spec ops player, most of the time i feel that this class does not get the credit it deserves.
The one class that gets the most credit is medics, then support, then assault, and the bottom three are antitank, sniper and spec ops.
Everyone takes the direct approach to playing the game, spec ops take the indirect approach relying on covert tactics and stealth. Everyone has more firepower than the spec ops and i feel people are spitting on this class more and more. Anyone knows that in a battle, 30-50% of the people are medics and support The sad part is having a crapload of medics and support players, and still loosing the battle. We blow up commander assets of the other opposing team and seldomly we dont get any praise at all.
An assault, support or even a medic can take out 3-5 badguys without being killed. A spec ops can do this only if theycan get the jump on the badguys.
After a round, how many times you see a spec ops getting a gold medal assuming he is not vehicle whoring. the answer is very few. An assault kit has it easier than spec ops. Most of the gold medals go to the support and medics. Yeah,, a medic get unlimited health while a support gets unlimited ammo. Assault people noob tube all day long.
In my opinion, there are too many run and gun spec ops players there. very few peoplle use C4 properly. No one sneaks in a base, place two charges in the bottom of a tank, hide and wait until someone takes the tank out for a spin and detonates the c4. And very few people are willing to take out UAV's, radar and the most famous of all-----artillery
I know people have this mentality of " OH yeah, my assault rifle is bigger than your piss ass carbine, yeah your about to get owned by the bigger gun."
One possibility is that people think that spec ops are a bunch of " arrogant , lone wolfers, who farm for points and dont help out" if they can be used as a cohesive unit, then they become more powerful.
Everyone is flag hopping and running around the map shooting up the place, and we have to be the ones to defend the flag and take the captured ones.
I hope this thread will awaken others that spec ops are not a weak usless bunch of morons with c4 in their backpacks.
