I've gotta wonder about EA's research team when it comes to guns. This is something that's bugged me since the day I bought the game over a year ago. I know it's just a game and they can take liberties with damage and such, like the G3 and the M24. In the real world they shoot the same ammo, but in the game, the M24 does a lot more damage, I can live with that, cause everyone would be packing a G3 if it did that much damage.
But one thing that has been glaring at me in the face since I got the game, is the USMC engineer shotgun, the M11-87. They made it a pump shotgun in the game, when in real life an 11-87 is a semi-automatic shotgun. Just take a look at this link if you don't believe me http://world.guns.ru/shotgun/sh24-e.htm
Don't get me wrong, I love using the gun in the game, but it's just a glaring mistake to me. I know they meant to call it an M870, which is a pump shotgun in the real world.
I've also gotta point out that the info is wrong on the BF2S weapon guide. In the "In the 'real' world" section they call the 11-87 a pump shotgun as well.
I admit I'm a serious gun nut, I'm actually a gunsmith. I know this is just pointless bitching, but I had to get it off my chest. I could do a whole other post on the sights of the MEC pistol, but I won't bore you with them, lets just say that in the real world, those sights go against every rule of pistol shooting, and I don't know where EA got the idea to design em like that.
