As for the rifles, I also prefer M24 to M95, because M95 heavy .50cal rounds tend to "fall down" very quickly, and you have to aim much higher than with the Remingtonish M24. The only advantage M95 has over the standard USMC rifle is the capability of killing vehicle crewman thorugh glass. And that of course is a very serious advantage. But I still think M24 is designed and looks better than "Barret Light Fifty", with this classic hunter-rifle shape.

PLA's Type 88 sniper rifle has the best scope sight IMHO, and looks very futuristic. I like it very much, but it's lack of power and accuracy at longer ranges puts it on 3rd position.

And the soviet Dragunov sniper rifle (although it's the same as Type 88) sucks completely... Triangle crosshair? OH PLEASE!

Kim, yeah la double down on your thoughts as well. defeats the purpose.

I've never really been exposed to all this teamkilling dilemna's. I usually am at arm's length looking at the mayhem from me safe and quite place, sipping hot coffee in the mornings and whiskey at night. Not panicking each time I see an enemy b/c chances are he has no clue I'm there.

I'm a sniper. It gives me a relaxing evening. In maps, I'll join a squad (30-40pts/map for the cmdr:), tell the squad the 2-3 posistion I'll be bouncing back and forth from, then zone out. My squads constantly call out for my AT & T shots or giving them spotting/cvr whilst capping/defending flags.

I've been in GDC clan since it's inception of the MohAA days, cod, uo,BFV etc etc. been in the suck on each one of those, grunting it out w/ automatics.

I knew from the onset that I couldn't compete w/ the likes of Blazin, broggi an such (time in game/points). There are far too many variables that make up thier scores. I am a sniper b/c I know tha it's just meself vs....bullet by bullet round by round. My goal's to be #1 w/ sniper rifle, not sniper kit (as a sniper ina jet/chopper/tank get sniper points for vehicle kills etc.) But kit equip->sniper rifle, is just me an me mouse:)

m24 w/out a doubt, 95 when MEC/China (v. long shots only)

for CQC with the bolt actions i usually just drop take a body shot and if they dont die take out my pistol for the last shot. or if i'm too close or at a bad position, KNIFE!!!

I'm with you on this one. How can any other win over the M95.... It's accurate, even over long distances, it's powerful and more often than not, it's a one shot one kill..... included in the price is that fact it shoots through glass ... can there be any better snipey

heh, its took me 40 hours to clock up just over a thousand frags with sniper rifles...

To be number one (whatever that means) i'd need to play another 400 hours and hope everyone else takes a break, lol.

I will aim for the best legit k/d which, as far as i know is held by "r9ohcop"

The illegimate best would be unfortunately "havocer"

I prefer the m24 over anything else. Many people think the m95 is better. I think the crosshairs are too wide.
I've been using the m24 for a while now. Im sorta used to it.

Recently while playing mostly on MEC's side I have come to like SVD Dragunov, its fun, accurate and good semi-auto sniping rifle.

But.. I'm not giving my vote for SVD Dragunov..

..but to M24, being the best sniper rifle in game it's deadly accurate and the only choice w/ UMSC. Having rare chance to shoot trough glass the M95 is rather useless and pointless. The only time I use M95 is w/ China.

i hope ppl know that the m24 damage is the same as the m95 damage per shot.

only thing making the m95 > m24 is the ability shooting through glass, other then that the m24's accuracy is > m95.

and for a sniper accuracy is everything.

now if the changed it so that the m24 does 70 dmg instead of 90, which i think makes sense seeing that the m95 in RL would blow the leg of someone if they get hit by it LOL, my vote would go for the m95.

the ability to kill someone in one shot with either the m24 or m95 really depends on 2 things:

1. was it a headshot?
2. were they already hurt when u hit them?

b/c the damage for both guns are the same so u cant really say one gun is more powerful then the other, except for shooting through glass...which doesnt make sense since if one gun can shoot through glass and the other cant....they why isnt the m95 doing more damage then the m24?

I would take the M24 over all the others. Gotta go with the american weaponry,
very accurate. the M95 doesn't seem to have the accuracy u need somtimes.

I used to use the M95 as my priamry rifle, but then I moved back to the M24 and saw a big improvent in my accuracy, so I would vote the M24.  I still prefer the M95 to the non-US sniper rifles though.

I am only saying the M24 because she has served me well and felled many a foe in my short tenure as a soldier on the Battlefield but the M95 unlock is shaping up to be pretty decent as well .

This is the order that I use my sniper rifles:
1. Type 88
2. SVD
3. M24
4. M95
I can pull off a lot more head shots faster with a 88 or SVD than a M24 and M95.
(I got my practice on the snipers game: Deus Ex)
Plus the 88 has a better crosshair than the crappy bulletdrop crosshair for the SVD.


I only use the M95 for situations when there is an enemy helicopter around.
Plus fuel barrels blow up in one shot from the M95.
It takes two shots from a M24 to ignite one.

You can actually blow up a *Full heath*  fuel barrel from a chopper with a M95?
Has this been confirmed?
