would be nice to have more distance, its just amazing I have my distance to 100% and some of these guys still manage to shoot me even though there is no way I can see them!  I see the muzzle flash through the fog, but how can they shoot me if I cant even see them?  I know the UAV isnt that good.

zicht to the highest...yeah, that's what I was thinking!  j/k

He is right, slide the doodad on the option screen over to 100%.  That's it, you can see what I can see now.

Of course if you're talking about having foliage that doesn't show up, no shadows etc. so you can see the enemies sooner/better, then I couldn't be of much help.  I like the game to look it's best, even if it makes me die a few times more.

eeeh that wasnt exactly how i meant...
But still cheating is lame and those who do and accuse other to have it got no skill what so ever!
And that include you Jim_Bred.

Dont accuse me for something i never would do (unlike you)
And hey, we are playing Battlefield 2 not CS or Quake and stuff like that.

But the only "correct" answer i got here was liquidat0r..

Thx, that gave me atleast 150m+ view.
Too bad i just run out of Karma

Sorry if that came out wrong.   I didn't intend to sound like I was accusing you of anything.  As a matter of fact, niekjejeje's post was the last one when I first started my post.  liquidat0r's post is actually what I was talking about, and is very similar to my configuration (probably why I've never noticed what you were seeing (unseen killers etc).

+1 for liquidat0r on Typh00n's behalf!

Dude.. learn what sniping is about. Yeah, there are people out there with a nofog hack... But they're still few and far between. In genral, on maps where the fog lowers your viewing distance, you have to be aware that you WILL get spotted easier if you:

1) Stick out in the skyline
2) Fire your weapon
3) Move
4) Cross a guys preripheral vision

So learn to snipe:

1) Do NOT go for the high ground. high ground is for whimps and pussies. You get spotted easier, and you get taken DOWN real fast if the enemy team has a decent sniper.
2) DO NOT SHOOT unless you have to. Either to kill the enemy or to defend your own life. Move IMMEDIATELY after shooting, because you WILL expose yourself, even more so on night maps and foggy maps. And twice as much if you didn't listen to #1.
3) DO NOT run to your next position and then throw yourself at the ground and think you're safe. Move to a SAFE location, then secure the immediate area, THEN slowly get to your next sniping position as stealthily as possible. Once there only stick out your neck to shoot. Then follow rule #2
4) Use your peripheral vision. The gaming engine is like so many others. for some reason that I will not get into details with, you CAN see further with your periphiral vision, so move your head a lot to spot for enemies beyond your normal view distance.

This should take care of your immediate needs when it comes to "one shot - one kill" sniping. NExt leasson is to forget about that and go do it the fun way... assault sniping. Go use the nice search button to learn how to do that.

put your view distance to 100%, put your geometry to high (medium if high is too much for your system) and you can see further.

Some people just use name tags for locating people. You point at nothing, a name tag comes up, you shoot.

Geometry to high, and view distance to 100%.  Every1 thinks that view distance is what does it, but that is only static objects, such as trees, or the US carrier.  If u want to see vehicles and infantry farther away, then turn geometry up up to high if your graphics card can handle it.
