I have been looking on google for bf2 forums and it appears we are not alone (most already know this) theres possibly the biggest totalbf2 there site, is for modders and home to the famous SIR.community
this is a quote from one bf2 forum member of the most active sites

TotalBF2 is full of newbies. If you are a true Battlefield veteran, join www.BattlefieldFrontlines.com -- It's been around since 2001-2002. Though the name has drastically changed, it's still the same members.

BFCentral / BF42 > FPSCentral > AmpedDX > BFCentral > BFFrontlines

It still has some of veterans around, as well as some developers of Eve of Destruction, Desert Combat, and Forgotten Hope. It's not bustling in members as it used to, or like TotalBF2, but it's still a great community.

Speaking of TotalBF2, Rico used to be one of the head members at BF42. You might also want to check out www.TheBattlefields.com; it's comprised of the original people from BF42, BFC, etc as well as some modders, after the merge of communities. It's not specifically focused on Battlefield 2, but it's still a great community.

There loads of them, and do you use any others? I just use this one at the moment as i know most in the community and it is friendly place also not too many N00bs.

Another idea i had was that Jam3z's idea of the community ladder using squads, maybe one day we could expand it to other forums get them fighting our lot.

I just mainly hang out here. Some of the other forums im on is CDG (Clan of the Dead Goat) http://www.cdg.net/forums/ good for modellers, skinners, animators, and so on. I also find some good CSS releases on CDG. Then comes totalbf2. I also been in the HL2World forums for quite some time but most people there are asshole flamers.

me and Daz used to go to GTAF a lot.  Thats Grand Theft Auto Forums.  Great site for GTA stuff, but regardless its going downhill from all of the good members leaving.  So we left and came here...

I used to post a lot on TBF2, but the site went downhill fast and has become infested with whiners and nooblets.  Now I only use TBF2 for the main page news and post there occasionally.

Ahh yes... FPSCentral... I remember my days of working there... TBF2 actually has most of the old FPSCentral staff. Spawndemon, Ace101, DrunkenPirate, even Talus who was a forum moderator.

Good times.

I went over to totalbf2 to promote the sniper community a while back... well, here's an extract of some of the replies I got...

"I thought there already was a bunch of people who went around various servers always running the sniper kit. I believe we call them 'Privates' or something like that."

"All you gotta do is hit em' in the head. Not that hard "

"Yes, because we all know it takes mad skillz to sit on top of a building somewhere a mile away from the action and shoot at people who can't see you or don't know you're there. GG!

Actually, I have played against a team of snipers before, and I must say claymore spamming never felt so annoying. But it did get amusing after all the flags were capped and we got the pleasure of watching our heli go to each building top and maim the snipers positioned there while the rest of the enemy team waited for the round to end (they had no more flags, you see). Fun times."

"Wipe out a whole squad by sniping? Suuuuuure... A squad of one, maybe. One medic alone would negate the usefulness of an enemy sniper, not to mention medics get ARs and can fight very effectively on the front lines as well so they can help with the flag capping duties."

Bastards...

Unfortunately I can believe that that kind of moronic/ill-informed opinion is prevalent in any community of mixed BF2 players. Course there's good reason for the view in the main, doesn't make it true all the time any more than any stereotype is always true, but what's sad is that judging from this forum nothing can sway them from their entrenched position.

Wakeup call coming very soon to a server near everyone.
