OK... BIG P 66 KARKAND... I got it. simple mistake -no need for names.

ITS Karkand FFS not KArklandDBBrinson1 wrote:
Why does Karkland seem to be the brunt of such hate? I've seen that some love it and hate it. It's not my favorite map. I'll play it when I get pissed at someone in a J-10 peeing all over the carrier keeping everyone from making it to land on the wake map. I enjoy the Peninsula map more when I want to play a city map. But it seems that the Kark maps are usually full especially for 32 or 64 size servers... Just curious.
Totally agree with you. I dropped Vanilla for that very reason. Spawn, die, spawn, drive, die. At least with Special Forces, you have a chance to kill people. Plus, theirs hardly ever any plane/heli/armor campers in SF so everybody's contributing.TurDlich wrote:
I have spent a lot of time on karkand...I love the huge infantry battles without jets running up your ass all the time. After a while it gets old. Same shit, different day. At first, it was awesome having all these targets to shoot, grenade, and heal...but then its like you hit bf puberty, and those things aren't enough fun anymore. I dropped karkand like a hot rock when I bought SF.
I love being in the action all the time, so the vanilla maps can get a bit boring for me. Drive to action, die. Drive to action, kill 1 guy, die. Action is where you spawn, kill 1 guy, die. Walk to closest enemy base, sneak around, kill 1 guy, take the flag, arty. Too much time spent looking at the spawn screen and being behind the wheel.
SF is where the real inf. action is. The fighting is condensed, but the maps are still large enough for choppers and transport to be necessary.
/my 2 cents
I'm gonna go play Dalian Planet.. cya n00bs.usmarine2005 wrote:

And again de_dust was an over played over rated, boring repetitive map. de_dust2 was much better, had more things to do and better battles, kind of like sharqi or warlord.cablecopulate wrote:
Karkand is the de_dust of bf2.
I can agree that the map shouldn't be as linear as it is and there are valid tactics that can be used, It just never happens, and why?? Well i could just say there all noobs and cant play (which they are). But the fundamental problem is there is little incentive to capture flags as i pointed out. You only need 2 to stop ticket bleed, so if MEC has already lost one they can afford to lose 6 more with no penalty's, If USMC has captured one they don't NEED to capture any more (Even on Iron Gator, the hardest assault map you need to capture 2 flags to stop Ticket bleed or hold 4 to start it in your opposition). This results in people all going to the one place where they can get the most points the quickest, which is the 'front' between the next flag and the one just captured. hotel > square > suburb > train accident > gatehouse/cement factory > factory (a little less linear on the eastern island).Crispin wrote:
Not trying to but heads its just a matter of an opinion we only run the 32 man version of it so only two tanks and one apc, i don't know where you've been playing but tactics are a must for any map in any game to over come the enemy team, i like karkand as i said above the team play my buddies and myself use and the tactics we use.
I hardly spend the entire map at hotel as USMC you just have to be organized to take it, and do we whore tanks!? NO, we are ground pounders its called flanking the sides not flanking to Factory/Gatehouse but flanking between hotel/square then have another squad hitting them from the front to take it.
So i don't know where you get the map is liner, to the un experienced players maybe but not to players with common sense.
I call common sense. Where ever it is on the map its suicide to run straight at your objective. Again about you NOT whoring tanks is irrelevant because only a few in the map can, and by whore i don't mean use, i mean spawn rape infantry and hide from anything remotely dangerous like the other armor and TOW placements.flanking the sides not flanking to Factory/Gatehouse but flanking between hotel/square
Firstly it was far less of a 'bitch' as an informed detailed reason as to why karkand is not a well designed map and how people play it using my 140 or so hours of experience which incidentally is much more then you.TheCanadianTerrorist wrote:
Stop bitching about point whoring in Karkand, just because you suck at infantry. Mashtuur can't compair to Karkand/Sharqi infantry fights.

25 hours and you are staying away from it? *ignores his almost 500 hours logged and whistles*lagerfool wrote:
Kark is good, just getting really old. I have 25 hours on it (most of any map right now) and I am purposely trying to stay away from it. I enjoy Zatar and SmokeScreen.
Just in case you missed it , its spelled Karkand. lolmaestrium wrote:
Wow, I love to see all the retards responding "it's karkand, not karkland", when about 20 other people said it and the thread starter even said "well, at least i know it's karkand and not karkland". Stop being retarded and read the god damn posts before you stop saying that same thing over and over.
I have to agree with that, I don't mind it in rotation. But 24/7 with a stacked side of well ranked players versus average-to-newbies isn't too much fun.Cursed You wrote:
I like karkand, cant stand a 24/7 server of it anymore, but I enjoy it in the rotation.
Put choppers in it and ill play it!!! Good BYE TAnK WhOrEsDBBrinson1 wrote:

CHANGED Karkland to Karkand -reluctantly.
get lost mate...there are absolutely no tactics involved in karkand whatsoever, its just about who can get the most points from their various methods of whoring before the round endsBigmacK192 wrote:

Lets say this game had no stats / points. I would still play on karkland exclusivly because I love the frequent infantry fights. I play karkland for the same reason I played DC_LOSTVILLAGE in the days of Desert Combat. mashtuur city is not better for infantry combat imo. As others have said Warlord is probably the best infantry map, but I'm not really sure as I have only played 1 hour on it. There are no warlord only servers in my area.....DrunkFace wrote:
7. Apart from all that there are just so many better maps to play. The ONE major reason why so many people play it, is EASY points. Dont bull shit me with infantry fights are the best becasue mashtuur city has a total of 2 tanks both of which you can lose if you lose there spawn point making it the only map which you can play with no vehicle stronger then a transport (due to BH nerf), making it the most infantry friendly map in existance. Why isnt it played as much? Because you will never score as high on it and you cant just whore points or you will lose, you must actually try and win (WHAT A FUCKING SHOCK)!!.
