is anybody having problems with tiscali today?  internet is rewally slow and my ping is around 150!!

Hmmm, Tiscali eh....

I swapped over to Tiscali from BT a while back & have not been too pleased about the move.
Didn't read the very, very, very small (almost impossible to find) print about their 'fair usage policy' for so called 'unlimited usage' accounts.
I keep getting usage warning e-mails which I could put up with if it wasn't for the crap service that they provide.

Don't know about you but my connection seems to drop whenever it feels like it & it can run fast/slow at the drop of a hat.  I binned their toss modem that they give you when you sign up and bought an ethernet modem dirt cheap off ebay.  This seems to have all but solved the dropped connection problem so if your suffering the same I would suggest giving it a go, hardly ever happens now.

I used to be with Tiscali and ended up taking them to court - and won.  They are a terrible ISP and would not use them for all the money in the world....and when you call them - you get

INDIAN BLOODY CALL CENTRE!

Good luck with them - but I would recommend you leave ASAP.

I'm with Tiscali it's crap, shite, fucking wank and whatever other choice words anyone would like to add about it. But the way to get round the paki call centre's is to call the cancellations number, based in UK and only english speaking people answer it!!!

I was with tiscali "unlimited" dial up back in the day before BB was available in my area, and they started to pull that "you're using it too much" crap with me (and that wasn't in the small print, or anywhere else in the contract). Customer service was shockingly BAD, took about 2 hours to get through, and when you did you couldn't understand a bloody word they were saying cus they were foreign. In the end I told them to shove it up their arse, which also proved to be a pain to do (excuse the pun!), they didn't seem to want to believe me when I said I wanted to cancel my account so I had to get my bank to stop paying them in the end. They then whined and bitched about it for a few months, saying I owed them money. Nothing ever came of it though.
I'm on 8Mb Demon BB now, have been on Demon BB for about 4 years now, I couldn't tell you what their customer support is like because I have never had to use it, and in those 4 years it's only been down once, and that was scheduled downtime
