are kidding themselves.
I had a chance to play on my buddies computer yesterday and it's very clear that SF weapons are quite superior to their vanilla counterparts.
The medic gun is argueably the best weapon in the game, very little recoil, excellent against unarmoured infantry (almost always a 1 burst kill), ok against armoured infantry (this is it's one disadvantage), Great at long, medium and short ranges. Medics are now the best lone wolfs in the game, I can drop some medpacks and stand and snipe all day long, or I can pull some ninja shit and wipe out three guys tryign to take a flag before they even knew I was there. I love the G36E and the only disadvantage I could find in the weapon was the armor penetration... but if you're aiming for the face that's non-issue, it takes 2-3 bursts to the chest, 1 to the face. I easily tripled my ratio as medic.
The SpecOps gun is another favorite of mine, it's almost completely silent and when prone if you give about 500ms it NEVER misses, it's always on target. It doesn't have good armour penetration but you don't need it in single fire since they can't hear where the bullet is coming from you can squeeze off the extra necessary round. Full auto it's not bad either, low recoil (not anywhere near the G36's but good enough.)
The Assault unlock is an upgrade in almost everyway too. Noob Toob + Scope + Almost completely Silent rounds (sounds like you have taco shits,) and again it's one failing is armour penetration (are you seeing a trend here.) While the armour penetration is mild, it's still a 1 hit kill with the GL, which appear to load slightly slower than it's GP-30/M203 counterparts but not much. Any disadvantages though is offset by the scope and very quiet firing, it's good at sniping and then if things get hairy you can just switch to GL and noob tube it up.
I didn't get to test the support gun and only breifly used the Engineer MP7, this gun seemed like the only sensable upgrade out of the ones I used, and that's only because the shotguns suck so much except in the occasional CQC and if it had not been for this fact I would say, given to any other class would have been a downgrade, typical of the Engineers getting humped by EA.
I know some of you are going to say "Well I paid to have more skill than you" or something very similar. FPSes are supposed to be a test of quick wits and responses not who managed to pay the most. If I wanted a game that you could get skill for paying I would be playing an MMORPG. Weapon unlocks should provide variety not superiority.
