I think all the city maps would be much better without claymores. The other maps though, are a little iffy.
keeping your eyes open is also a good idea.

Trick is, you have to disarm them from the front...

give an option for tk on/off (which it is already) and make em destroyable with grendades/c4/artie/tanks and lets stop bitching
The Claymore projects a fan-shaped pattern of steel balls in a 60-degree horizontal arc, at a maximum height of 2 meters, and covers a casualty radius of 100 meters. The optimum effective range (the range at which the most desirable balance is achieved between lethality and area coverage) is 50 meters. The forward danger radius for friendly forces is 250 meters. The backblast area is unsafe in unprotected areas 16 meters to the rear and sides of the munition. Friendly personnel within 100 meters to the rear and sides of the munition should be in a covered position to be safe from secondary missiles.DaZeD863 wrote:

oh really? ever used a claymore? i have... normally (im talking about like the soldier the game depicts) they are attached to a long ass cord with a little green box at the end... of which you have to squeeze to get a reaction from.. they just dont go off when an enemy walks in front of them... so yes.. take them out, turn back on ff or make them used like the c4 in game.....

The Claymore mine is typically employed in one of three modes: Controlled, Uncontrolled, and Time-delayed
Uncontrolled Mode (also known as Victim Initiated Detonation) - Uncontrolled firing is accomplished when the mine is installed in such a manner as to cause an unsuspecting enemy to detonate the mine. Mines employed in this manner must be reported and recorded as land mines. There are many mechanisms that can be used to initiate the M18A1 in uncontrolled mode, including the M142 Multipurpose Firing Device, M5 Pressure Release Device (mousetrap), tripwires, strikers, infrared sensors, acoustic & vibration sensors.

Holy crap man...I play PoE2 a ton, and place claymores around flags and shit. I've ended rounds with -40 or more points, only because they are so damned used to TK for clays being off. I'm happy that it's unranked at all, so I don't care, but damn, you should see how many servers kick me for so many punishes. Huge red X, red on the ground, maybe of I walk into it it'll give me candy!VeNg3nCe^ wrote:
Just remove the no TK option (so its like 1.12) and claymores aren't a problem.
If they took away the no TK option, then you'd see a lot of negative scores, and if you place claymores yourself (Like I), it'll be extremely frustrating trying to explain to every freaking Bob Smith that FF is ON!
plus 1. Totally agree! They got their fucking cake (1.4 no infantry (which should NOT be ranked)) but are they happy???!!!??? of course not.chuuby wrote:
you people are so fucking dumb. take this out take that out. like that one guy said lets just take out all the weapons. you fucking pussies cant handle one thing about the game you think it should eb changed. i hate planes on maps. but do i think they should remove them no i just deal with it. claymors are part of the game if you dont like it stfu and go play somethng else. just like people who cry about people using the nade launcher. its part of the fucking game so why not use it. its people like you that have ruined this game not ea. if you fucking pussies didnt cry about everything then they wouldnt have to put out all these new patches to make you cry babies happy. nerfing shit. why not just stfu and play.
why shouldnt IO not be ranked? that make no sense at all, not everyone wants to get theyr points using a vehicle the hole game...
This may be the most pointless fucking post i've seen in awhile, and i've gotta jump on the 'quit bitching about the game' bandwagon...when i first started playing back in the bf2 1.1 days, there were real issues, like the APC being to weak to make it up gentle slopes, example: The road! Also, the M95 being so incredibly inaccurate, or the vehicles causing to much damage when bumping people. Now there's "don't throw this C4 like this" and "take this part out of the game that has been here since day fucking 1 (Claymores)" and the always funny and entertaining "I bunny hop better than you, but i want you nerfed so you don't out bunny me!" Give it a rest people...concentrate on real issues like connection errors, or people being revived with no kits, blue/red nametag problems, or whatever the fuck else is a REAL concern. I know you lot have SOME sort of common sense out there...prove it for once, holy fucking allah buddhist christ.
Exactly!!!! Spamming currently has no consequences!VeNg3nCe^ wrote:

how do you spam 2 clamores...?
Go to Karkand, place 2 claymores, by the time you get more ammo, you have 2 kills, place 2 more, repeat and repeat to the top of the leaderboard.Kyouteki wrote:

It was a rhetorical question. I mentioned to bring up the point that 'spamming' claymores is more trouble than it's worth, and this is from the guy who got his expert sniper badge.ljason8eg wrote:

now that I have my expert explosive badge, I say yes.
Although I agree that people should stop saying: take this out, ... I must say that it's annoying to see a claymore but you can't destroy it with a grenade. If you have teamwork, just run into it and your medic will revive you, but then you give that sniper another kill... I just want to throw my nade on it again and move on instead of running into it and hoping the medic isn't a major noob.

Why not just remove all the weapons from the game, then we can all just hold hands and sing Kumbaya.
if u could shoot them and they would blow up.
Its a problem its not the 'default' option, But with FF on you either get TK's or have to be more precise/intellegent where you place them. So there is no problem. Do you bitch about a well placed C4 sandwich or grenade?ThomasMorgan wrote:

I think claymores could have two things done to them to make them a little less frustrating:
Trip wire
The trip-wire option would mean they'd take a moment to set up, instead of being droppable right in the face of a squad capping a flag, that sort of thing. Plus those paying attention (and with good enough graphics!) could jump over the wire, rewarding them for paying attention and not running around blindly.
Destructable
If they remain able to identify friend from foe (IFF) they could be made destructible again by grenades or other explosions.
As for the way they are now, it promotes teamwork! Geez, how often does this have to be mentioned? Go around in a squad with at least one medic hanging back and clay-protected choke points (like the lobby and stairs of the TV stations) are little problem and there's no loss of a ticket to your team. Sure the sniper still gets the +2 for the kill, so what?
