what will help more cpu, ram to get decent fps? i got an amd athlon 2500+,2 gig 400mhz,7600gs agp,and i still get poor fps
Definately get rid of the 2500+. Im not saying it to be mean or anything, But its definately your bottleneck. Your going to need a new Motherboard also as your 2500+ prolly is a socket A or Possibly a 754. If so, Anything thats going to do you ANY good is going to be a socket 939 AMD64 chip. They have cut the AMD X2 4200+ down to $140 here in the US. Thats a Duel core 64 bit CPU. You cant beat that with a stick.
Im running a 3700+ Overclocked from 2.2 to 2.7 on air with a slight voltage adjustment. Have an ATI X1800XL 512mb Gfx card and 4gb Kingston HyperX Ram. Im also useing the Page file Bypass Trick in the games settings file. I Rarely get below 110 FPS at High settings. Vid card is Not overclocked.
To the original poster, you say 2.4 Intel, But what Kind? Is it a Pentium4? A Celeron? PentiumD? Is it a 2.4A, B, or C? It All depends. My kids rig is a 2.4C Intel Pentium4 with a X800XL 256mb vidio card with 1.5gb ram. He gets 70FPS all the time on medium to high settings. Its all in the setup of your computer. Try defraging your hard drive, and possibly the page file bypass. Let the vidio card and your RAM do the work instead of the Hard drive.
