yeah that was exactly what I did and what I thought on the whole infantry combat matter. In BF 2 I had a very aggressive play-style that basically meant to steamroll right through and cap that flag. If you got behind someone in BF 2, you'd kill him. Now, while aggression works, its a lot harder to perform. I find myself sprinting into enemies that haven't even noticed me...but since my accuracy is soo aweful, I end up emptying my clip without killing, leaving the guy plenty of time to return the favor, and since he wasn't the one running and sprinting...well, he just mows me down.Talon wrote:
First of all, I'm not complaining. I love 2142.
Many people are posting/complaining about the fact they that now lose one-on-one infantry battles, even though they started shooting. The reason for this is that infantry combat has changed. BF2 was about having fast reactions. Generally, two people would meet, go prone, and shoot. The faster one would win. Many of you formerly fast people struggle to do this now with the new delays and lower weapon accuracy. 2142 is geared much more towards defending and ambushing, as it takes longer to kill people. Rushing headlong into an enemy base no longer works, as a defending support will mow you down.
Also, I estimate that about 3/4 of people here play primarily Karkand/Sharqi. Thos maps are the "twitchiest" of all.
All I can say is get used to it or go back to BF2.
Support guys are actually something I fear now. Everytime i want to destroy a console I truly hope there aren't a bunch of em defending the hallway.
