- The Chinese weapon in real and in BF2............
hell, even the m249 can carry a scope. and the qbz doesnt even need a scope, its accurate enuff, i took down like 10 guys without healing with it in a row.

Yeah, look at the Australian version of essentially the same gun, fitted with a scope as standard (lucky bastards!)HellGuard99 wrote:

M-60/M-79, i liked it, and it was nerfed.DeathUnlimited wrote:
It's probably about the BALANCE of the weapons. (no one liked the invincible M60/L.A.W kit in BFV...)

on track now,
with a game like BF2, realism isnt really a factor when it comes to weapons. all they want are guns that are easily recognisable or look cool so they can draw people into using them. i mean, how many of you knew that the AK-101 existed before BF2?
Only thing I care about on China is

I'm still trying to figure out why the game has one weapon doing more damage than another, when both weapons shoot the same ammo. Like the G3 and the M24. And by the way, the Marines don't use the M24, they use the M40. They are both functionally the same gun, but the Marines build M40's themselves, and the Army uses the M24 which is a contracted weapon.
Oh and if we want to point out one of the biggest weapon flaws in the game. Take a look at the M11-87 (the US shotgun), and the NOR982 (the chinese shotgun, which is jsut a copy of the 11-87). In real life, these are semi automatic shotguns, but the fact checkers at Dice and EA obviously didn't even bother to check.
But then you can take it too far as well with the realism. IRL you would never load an M16 magazine to the full 30 rounds, usually you load them to 28 rounds, cause IRL they have loading problems if the magazine is fully loaded

Hmmm, I think you're right about the Eryx. The SRAW is post cold war era though. Tanks are really vulnerable to AT missiles, I don't care how 'modern' they are. They still leave nasty scars on tanks if they fail to destroy it.MrE`158 wrote:
They're not the only weapons in the game that are a bit dated.
The G3 and the PKM are pretty ancient, by modern firearm standards.
And the SRAW and Eryx are Cold War-era weapons that us poor BF2 anti-tankers are supposed to deploy against those 21st centruy tanks....
It's mostly done for stylistic reasons, I'd guess. Poor research may have some to do with it, as may a desire to include the AK-47 (what respectable shooter doesn't have one of those available?).
I do agree with you. Some of the research was a little poor. It's possible that what was used was because of the opinion of Dice, rather than dipecting them as more modern. The PLA has it's own AT rocket for infantry, but making one Eryx can be used for MEC and the PLA. That's what I call 'cutting corners', to get a game done faster. Same thing with the HJ-8.
And the JS submachinegun is more modern and more attractive than the Type 85. I could slap that together in my garage. Really, it looks like a grease gun.
Hehe. But not the Steyr, the Australian version of the Minimi; basically an M249 with some cosmetic differences.Fenris_GreyClaw wrote:

Yeah, that's an eternal mystery isn't it? Look at all the guns that fire 5.56mm NATO and their wide range of damage ratings. AK-101 v. M16A2... WTF?ts-pulsar wrote:

Might have been deliberate, who knows?ts-pulsar wrote:

All the time?? That's a pretty bloody major flaw IMB... two less rounds might make a heck of a difference.ts-pulsar wrote:

Oh, that thing. well they both have scpoes as standard soTodd_Angelo wrote:

(sorry)

And to make things more realistic the teams need to be heavily stacked on the PLA's side to show they have more g00ns than the U.S Marines.
Wait a minute... *thinks*....*Wake Island....everyone switches to China*..
..Oh yeah! GG Dice!
