think about it, what's so attractive about the future to sc-fi heads? The fact that things are supposed to be 100x cooler/streamlined/wildly imaginative. I see none of that in bf2142. I've heard that Dice spent more than a mere year developing bf2142, and I believe it. But to me, it looks like bf2 had more quality time put into it, and that's why bf2 is a better game to me, than bf2142.

Futuristic just doesn't do it for me (too many bright lights, crazy lasers and silly uniforms)
EA obviously thought long and hard about how futuristic to make BF2142 and listened to the feedback they got from the community. The community basically whined that they didn't want lasers and "pew pew pew" and so they tried to kkep the feel as contemporary as possible but with a future twist to it.
It's this kind of repetitive complaining about a game that get's things nerfed, the gamplay changed, and the community whining again.
Half the community say they don't want the lasers while the other half stay silent. EA release the game and the other silent half then say they don't like the game becasue it should be more futurey (I know it's not a word).
Can't we for once just accept the game for what it is, a new game. It's not trying to beat BF2. It's not necessarily in direct competition with BF2 (you are allowed to play both you know).
