Squad leader points:
- Can't be team swapped as SL
- If you are an aggressive flag capper, your teammates will spawn on you continually to help you out
- SL = squad medics will make you a priority = better score for you = get raised when gaymored
- as SL when driving and walking, 90% of the time you will be first to the flag = 4 points instead of 2
- Know the map as SL, and the fastest routes to action and more points, if you don't know the map inside out, don't be a SL or everyone will split apart on the map
- Use VOIP continually as SL informing party of what you see, and where you are going - this helps to keep people cycling into kits that are needed (AT, SPEC, MEDIC, SUPPORT, GAYMORES etc) as needed, as well as it keeps the squad together because they know you aren't fucking around.
- Your priority as SL is to earn points while capping flags, while staying alive, while issue orders and keeping track of where you are going to next.
- The point of SL is not to hang back and be a pussy letting 5 people spawn for free of you while you get no points, it is to keep the whole crew moving together for a single target, raise anyone who dies, and move on to the next one
- As SL you should grab any fallen medics kit and raise them, and vice versa. There is no SL passing anymore, so you need to raise anyone to keep as many bodies alive as possible. You'd be suprised how often raising your buddy saves your ass when you die, because he can swap kits again and raise you right back and on and on and on.
- As SL you need to stay alive - I suggest learning to utilize your prone spamming, bunny hopping skills to the max, because there is nothing more annoying then a SL who is always dead or a SL that camps in the middle of fucking nowhere. You need to get into the action, stay alive, and make points.
- If you are SL and you don't have the most points, you are doing something wrong - SL takes a bit of extra effort, but the point rewards are greater if you do it right
- A squad of 1 support 1 medic is all you need to win a map, just remember to always swap kits to raise a dead medic and vice versa - the longer you stay alive, and the more people alive = more points for you and your squad. People often say don't rez people in fire - unless they are dead under a fucking tank, you risk your ass to raise them, utilizing timing, bunny hopping, and VOIP telling them to get up and move their ass.
You'd be suprised how effective this is, if your squad listens and you are good at swapping kits and raising people - have all hotkeys handy - such as fast gun swapping to swap to paddles, hotkey for grabbing fallen kit easily, and prone, jump, sprint, crouch hotkeys handy as well!
Put it this way, raising your buddy, even if he is retarded and cant shoot anything (worst case) is 100 more HP + armor they have to shoot at while trying to kill you as well. If you have paddles, or you know a fallen guy has paddles (you can see dead medics models pretty easily if you learn and the cross on the bag is easily seen as well) then you have up to four charges, = up to 8 points and up to 400 more HP they have to kill. + all of your buddies will obviously be able to fire back. You only need one squad mate standing at the end, who MUST grab any medic kit and raise all the dead bodies. That is the catch, your squadmates have to be willing to swap to medic kits quickly and raise everyone. This is not only a shit pile of points, but it keeps everyone together, alive and fighting, and mobile in that you don't have to wait 15 seconds and respawn and then walk a mile.
-Pretty much as SL the biggest enemy isnt the enemy infantry (if you master kit swapping above), its the enemies arty which will always come for your squad if you are any good, so keep that in mind while you are moving, and if you are SL and you know arty is coming on your head (eg you can hear it) then just back off 50 feet so you don't kill your whole squad. Everyone will follow you if you use VOIP and you aren't retarded. The second biggest killer is gaymores, and thats why you want medics with you - theres nothign more annoying then going to cap a flag only to eat a gaymore and have to wait 15 seconds and walk again, only to get gaymored again, etc. With medics, those gaymores are just +2 for your medics.
-One final tip: if you are support and you have targets at mid to long range, do not use your gun, use your grenades - always. Jump and throw, ammo bag, jump and throw, rinse repeat. You are a veritable fortress with unlimited grenades, an RPK/PKM, body armor, and a squad of medic humpers to keep you alive, you would be suprised at how many people you can kill with your grenades before you get up close and personal with your rpk for a handful more kills before you die (then wait to be raised). If you just proned and tried to kill them, you'd end up dead a lot sooner, and less people will be able to spawn on you into the action or onto the flag cap, and your medics will have to try a lot harder to keep you alive. Support SL or Medic SL = useful. Sniper SL etc. = go die. You really should only be playing 1 of those 2 kits as SL, because you want unlimited nades, or you want to be able to raise people, and anyone who dies ought to be able to swap your kit if they need to raise you or need some ammo.
