If your going to use wireless on Windows XP, be sure to disable the Windows XP Wireless Zero Configuration Service (Windows inbuilt service for controlling a wireless connection), and use the utility provided by the manufacturer of the wireless card/usb dongle.

When I use WZC I have huge problems with "There is a problem with your connection" messages that make the game pretty much unplayable. However by disabling WZC and letting the manufacturers wireless utility control the connection I have a perfect connection; no lag, no drop outs and no 10 second long "There is a problem with your connection" messages.

So to answer your question: Yes, BF2 over Wireless does work and no different now to when I used to run it over a wired connection.

Holy shit, that's steep.  I think i'll just use my dads old Netgear wireless card.

i use wireless... i think i should use a cable thou as i can only play on small maps!

it works fine.

i've been using wireless for gaming for two years now, and i switched to a wired connection about 4 days ago, very little change in performance.

as for xbox live, i've never been able to get it going, but that could just be me.

i use X-link as a xbox live alternative because im a cheapskate.
